Hide and disable message/comment field

Hi,
Is it possible to disable, hide and make the message text area "NOT required". I need the form to collect name, phone and email only. I am guessing I can use the subject field for telephone number but I cannot find any options for the message field at the admin panel to disable it. Is it possibel to do this and if so could you please give advice on this for a novice user?

HI,

To tell you the truth I never consider a situation where a user wouldn't want to display the message field so currently disabling it isn't an option.

I will definitely add it to the feature request list for a future release.
